Pa Fasoranti’s Death Creates Vacuum Difficult To Fill — Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese Mourns Afenifere Leader
..Says elder statesman stood for just society at risk to his life

The Chief Medical Director of Sckye Hospital, Akure, Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, has mourned the passing of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, describing his death as a vacuum that will be very difficult to fill.
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, Dr. Ikubese commiserated with the immediate Fasoranti family, the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and the good people of Ondo State over the demise of the centenarian.
According to Ikubese, Pa Fasoranti in his lifetime stood up for a just and equitable society, even at the expense of his own life, as exemplified by the assassination attempt on his life orchestrated by the oppressive military regime of General Sani Abacha in 1996.
He described the late Yoruba leader as a core disciplinarian who had high respect for time and order.
“That he lived up to the ripe age of 100 years was, though by the grace of God, also a reflection of how he compartmentalized his daily activities; not missing out on observing his daily siesta, minding what he eats and listening to his body language, while prioritizing his health,” he stated.
Dr. Ikubese congratulated the biological children of the late Afenifere leader for inheriting a good name, noting that the many lives Baba touched in his lifetime will be eager to do them good.
“It is my prayer that the Lord will grant his immediate family, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the good people of Ondo State, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement added.
Pa Reuben Fasoranti, who died at 100, was a renowned educationist, elder statesman and leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere.
