The Principal of Fiwasaye Girl’s Grammar School Akure, Dr Omobola Ojoge has read riot act to students posting pictures and videos with school uniform on social media, saying the penalty is expulsion from the school.
The award winning principal disclosed this while feeding questions from journalists at his office in Akure, saying it is against the rules of the school for any student to post pictures or videos while on school uniform.
She added that, Ministry of Education frowned at this unruly behavior of students, which will not only dent the image of the school but the education sector in Ondo State.
Speaking on the immoral behavior of some students during the unofficial sign out ceremony of the SSS 3 students, Ojoge questioned motive behind the ceremony saying both the school authority and Ministry of Education should find a way of stopping it.
” Sign Out ceremony is associated with students of higher institutions who are more matured but it is saddened that our secondary students have imitated and abused it. This is a misplaced priority and every parent should educate their ward on the danger of getting involved in a ceremony that add no value to their lives”.
Ojoge added that, no student of Fiwasaye would dare engage in this unholy act saying the school is noted for high moral value and discipline which has been the watchword of every student.
She cautioned students posting videos and pictures of themselves while on school uniform, saying the punishment for such act is expulsion from the school.
She appealed to parents to caution their children and teach them moral value and way of living a righteous lives devoid of immorality.
The Principal charged the government through Ministry of Education to set up a task force that will be going around during school hours with sole aim of apprehending students roaming about the street during school hours.
She promised to continue to educate the students of Fiwasaye on the need to live a decent life, saying they are the future of not only Ondo State but Nigeria as a whole.
