Akoni Olumide Victor Aliu, All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State has commended the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his visionary leadership and commitment to economic transformation following the announcement by the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to establish what is projected to become Nigeria’s biggest industrial and free trade zone at Olokola in Ondo State.
OVA as popularly called who hailed from Okeagbe-Akoko in Akoko Northwest Local Government, Ward 3 described the development as a landmark achievement and a strong validation of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s industrialization agenda.
He stated that, for Alhaji Aliko Dangote to return back to Olokola Free Trade Zone after decade, it is a testament to the confidence investors have in the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
He observed that the Olokola project, which had remained dormant for years, is now witnessing renewed momentum under the current administration
“For many years, the Olokola project represented unfulfilled expectations. Today, under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, the story is changing. Dangote’s return signifies renewed hope, confidence, and economic prospects for the people of Ondo State,” he added.
Akoni Aliu further praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for his proactive engagement with investors and for creating an enabling environment that encourages private sector participation in the state’s economic development.
He urged residents and host communities to support the project and cooperate with both the state government and investors to ensure its successful implementation.
He also referenced Dangote’s public commendation of Governor Aiyedatiwa as a business-oriented leader who appreciates the role of private sector investment in driving development.
Meanwhile, in another major boost to the economy of the state, Governor Aiyedatiwa received in audience the leadership of the Sahara Energy Group executives in his Office in Akure.
In his discussion with the leadership of Sahara Energy, the called for urgent action to revive a long-dormant oil asset in the state, warning that delays in investment decisions and infrastructure gaps must be addressed if Nigeria is to meet its crude oil production targets.
