By Collins Dupson, 8th May, 2022

A presidential aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed on Saturday visited Ondo State party Secretariat, Akure on consultation with the national delegates ahead of the Presidential primary of the party.

The State Chairman of party, Alhaji Fatai Adam while welcoming the governor and his entourage to the state said all PDP presidential aspirants are eminently qualified to become Nigerian president going by their credentials and antecedent.

He said the party leadership will determine the voting pattern of the state delegates after listening to all aspirants, saying PDP must present it’s best candidate for 2023 general elections.

Speaking, Governor Bala said the visit to Ondo State Chapter of the party became necessary in line with his presidential consultation with national delegates, saying he needs their support and votes to emerge as the party’s presidential flagbearer.

The Presidential hopeful disclosed that, Nigeria needs a detribalised person that is ready to carry everybody along without discriminating, noting that APC led government has divided the country along ethnicity lines rather than uniting the nation.

He promised to be a bridge builder if elected the president of the country, saying for Nigerians to get it right, unity, oneness and love must be prioritized.

” We need somebody who will build bridges; someone who will unite the country; someone who will reduce tension and high rate of insecurity in our country. I have worked everywhere, I have met many Nigerians of different ethnicity and religion background. I may not be the best but I am among the best for the job of the president of Nigeria”.

Gov Bala further stated that he has what it takes to rebuild and reconcile all elements within the country, adding that he does not believe in politics of ethnicity, religion and regionalism. “I am an apostle of one Nigeria and my presidency will unite the country and bring desirable development”.

He lamented the poor state of the nation since assumption of APC led administration, noting that Nigeria need holistic restructuring in every facet of governance for the country to get it right. ” Power is too centralised and for Nigeria to get back on track, we need holistic restructuring far from present arrangement where security among other germane sectors were given to clueless government at the centre”.

Meanwhile, Governor Bala stated that Nigeria need a proactive leader with track records of achievements to salvage our nation and not the argument of rotation as being claimed by some people.

” I promised to be Nigeria president and not president of one region; APC may have justification of zoning it’s presidential candidate to the South but in PDP 16 years administration, southern presidents dominated those years; Nigerians need a leader that can take the country out of the wood and zoning should not be a criteria”.

He commended the South West Governors for setting up regional security network, saying protection of lives and property should be the priority of any responsible government.
