2023 Engineering Week: Akure NSE Honours Outstanding Nigerian Engineers

The Akure Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) have conferred degree of awards on Outstanding Engineers in the country in recognition of their various contributions to Engineering Profession.

A week long Engineering programme commenced on Monday 11th September, 2023 with Press Conference where the leadership of the Society briefed Journalists on the line up activities for the week.

Speaking at the Distinguished Public Lecture, Dinner and Award Nite held at OSPDC Multi Purpose Event Hall Ijapo Estate Akure, the Branch Chairman, Engr Stephen Bolawole FNSE thanked God for the 2023 edition of the Engineering Week.

He recalled on his promise to pursue threefold agenda during his inauguration in 2022 which includes professional development, improved welfare of members and completion of the Society Granum Mansion Building Projects, saying his leadership in the last 11 months has not disappointed the association.

The Chairman said under his leadership, the Society has organized presentation of Technical Papers at the Society’s monthly general meetings, courtesy visits to industries, regular delivering of lecture at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare Akoko among others which would improve their scores in the National Engineering Conference Tagged “Abuja 2023”.

He added that on the Granum Mansion Building Project, the Building Committee has been working assiduously on how to raise funds with concerted efforts and positive responses from donors while charging well meaning Nigerians and Financially Strong Members to donate generously to the project.

He thanked the Guest Speaker Engr Tunji Arimoyo, NSE President, Engr Guests of Honour Engr Ali Rabiu FNSE, immediate Past President of COREN, Engr Olajide Edward Akinyeye while congratulating the Awardees saying the award is a tonic to do more and step up support to the branch.

The high point of the Dinner was Award presentation where categories of Honour were bestowed on Outstanding Engineers among Who were Engr Ali Rabiu FNSE, Engr Olajide Edward Akinyeye, Engr Tunji Arimoyo FNSE, Engr Adeleye Alaba and others.

In appreciation of a successful week, the Society held its thanksgiving service at Christ Apostolic Church, Revival Centre Ijoka, Akure.
