Since the departed soul of the Gallant Civilian Soldier in Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON, the wife of the generalissimo of the Amotekun Security Corps, Madame Betty Anyanwu is always in the new for the wrong reason. Controversy has become the second name of this Imo Born Mama Fowoso.
No step taken by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa that pleases Ada-Owerre. She always find fault in a man destined for greatness. Casting aspersion on the governor as if he was responsible for the demise of her husband, one of the finest governors the state has ever produced.
Without being sentimental, AKETI is one governor loved by many for speaking truth to power despite being a leading voice in the ruling APC led government in Nigeria. He says thing the way it is, not minding who ox is gored.
Betty, the once most powerful and influential First Lady our dear Sunshine State has produced since the creation of the state in 1976 has been off the news radar for a while but the voice of this woman became audible again the moment Ondo State Government announced one year Memorial Lecture in Honour of the Late Governor, slated for Friday, 27th December. Late Akeredolu died on the 27th of December, 2023 after a prolong battle with illness.
Ada Owerre is yet to come to term that, she is no longer in ‘POWER’ where she dictates when and how governance is being run. Probably, Madame Betty is expecting Governor Aiyedatiwa and his cabinet members to drive to Ibadan and take permission before honouring the memory of his Late Boss.
What is this unnecessary bickering all about? AKETI is a public figure beyond the dictates of his immediate family alone. Recalling that, the State Government and Aiyedatiwa were kept in the dark by the Aketi’s family during his burial. It was alleged that, the immediate family of the late Governor didn’t allow the Burial Planning Committee set up by the State Government to work together with them. Why is Ada Owerre nurturing bitterness against Aiyedatiwa? Aiyedatiwa swearing-in as the Substantive Governor after the demise of his boss is a constitutional matter that Mama Imo can’t change.
What is fraudulent about organizing a lecture in memory of the late governor who has served the state meritoriously? Is it possible for Ondo State Government to organize this kind of lecture without informing Akeredolu’s family? Adding one plus one, and considering the personality of this woman crying wolf, there’s more to the statement of “WE ARE NOT CARRYING ALONG”. To the wise one, not carrying them along means a lot to Mama Fowoso who is business oriented.
“Re: Purported Aketi lecture by Ondo State government”, posted on her verified X account, formerly known as Twitter, described the proposed memorial lecture as a “yahoo #419 lecture.
“Lucky can’t be serious! Which legacy? My foot! This is not for Aketi because I and my family are not aware. Damn it!”. “you and your co-travellers cannot shave Aketi’s head in his absence. You cannot weep more than the bereaved”.
“Now you want to pretend by organising one yeye lecture for Aketi’s memorial as an entry point to chop money on Aketi’s head. You are on your own o!”
“Lucky, you are preoccupied with rubbishing Aketi’s legacy; you can’t succeed, anyway. Anybody close to Aketi and Arabinrin becomes your enemy. Your minions are scared to get close otherwise they lose their appointments,”.
Rather than castigating and blackmailing the governor, the Akeredolu’s should salute the State Government for organizing memorial lecture in Honour of the late governor. Aside, the locaqiocus Digital Mama, how many Akeredolu’s brothers are accusing the governor wrongly?
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa should not be bothered by the market noise but remain focused and do what is needful in rememberance of a man that gave him the opportunity to serve as Deputy Governor.
I suggest the elders in the Akeredolu’s family should call Ada Owere to order, letting her know that her relevance as far as Ondo State is concern died with AKETI. There’s Betty because there’s Aketi and the moment Arakunrin closed his eyes, Betty Political Sight remains closed in the politics of Ondo State forever.
We shall continue to celebrate a man that came, saw and conquered. Please, I am begging Betty to allow AKETI ghost to sleep in peace. If she is not comfortable with Ondo State Government arrangement, as a good wife and highest beneficiaries of Aketi largesse, let her organize her own lecture in Ibadan or Imo to celebrate a man that brought her to limelight rather than throwing tantrums to the governor and organizers of the Memorial Lecture.
