The leadership of the Ondo State United Artisan Groups have distanced themselves from the newly formed group, Association of Nigeria Artisans and Technicians (ASNAT) saying there’s no faction in the group that will warrant forming of a new group.
In a press statement jointly signed by Com. Pst. Olaniyi Ale (Acting Chairman), Com. Badusi Dayo (Acting Secretary) and Com. Ogundele Oguns (Acting Treasurer) cautioned all the Professionally Skilled Workers in Ondo State (Artisan’s) to be wary of the newly formed group and the planned inauguration coming up on Monday.
The newly formed ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN ARTISAN’S AND TECHNICIANS (ASNAT) is under the leadership of Com. Komolafe Daisi, Prince Sola Oyesola.and Com. Tajudeen Bello.
The statement affirmed that, the only group duely recognized by the Artisans and state government in Ondo State is United Artisan’s Group which comprises six different bodies.
The bodies under the United Artisans’ Group are Ondo State Artisan’s Group (OSAG), Ondo State Artisan’s and Trader’s Union (OSATU), Carpenter and Furniture Maker’s Union (C/F), Tailor Association of Nigeria (TAN), Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) and Ondo State Hairdressers Association.
The released further warned no Association or Union under United Artisan’s should relate or register with the group (ASNAT) as the convener is still an appointee of Ondo State Government as the SSA to the governor on Artisan Matters and the immediate past President General of Ondo State Artisan’s Group (OSAG).
While urging the government to take note of the activities of the newly formed group, the leadership ask Artisans in the state to continue to be law abiding and do their work without intimidation.
