Princess Odu: Don’t Use Sexual Harassment To Blackmail Men, Says Women Are Not Weaker Gender

Princess Oladunni Odu, former Secretary to the Ondo State Government has cautioned women to stop blackmailing men with sexual harassment saying women should be assertive and confident in rejecting unwanted advances from men.

Princess Odu made this statement while feeding question from Newsmen at this year International Women Day held at International Event Centre, The DOME in Akure.

It could be recalled that, a female Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan recently accused the Senate President, Godwin Akpabio of Sexual harassment which has generated a lot of controversies in the country.

While highlighting the importance of mutual respect, Odu urged men to respect women’s boundaries and stop unwanted interactions that will belittle women dignity.

She added that women should not play into the hands of men saying they are not weaker gender and should always stand to defend their integrity without resulting into bringing men down.

“Our women need to be assertive and confident in rejecting unwanted advances without resorting to accusations as a means to harm men. Sexual harrassment should not be used to bring men down. We are not a weaker gender and we need to be treated with dignity and respect”

She enjoined women to be actively involved in politics, noting that, Nigeria have women of high moral standard, intelligent and should not succumb to intimation or victimization by anybody.

” Women should pursuit their dreams fearlessly, be resilience and courageous. They should continue to inspire for position of authority and never allow inferiority complex to kill their dreams”

Meanwhile, she congratulated Ondo State women as they celebrate 2025 International Women Day, urging them to be up and doing as a women of substance in the society.
