@ 73: OGSA HOLDS SPECIAL INTER-HOUSE SPORT IN HONOUR OF ALUMNI GLOBAL PRESIDENT, DR NIYI IJOGUN

Oyemekun Grammar School Akure (OGSA) on Wednesday 28th January, 2026 held a special Inter-House Athletic Competition in honour of the outgoing Global President of the School Alumni, Dr Niyi Ijogun.
The Inter-House Sport was also part of the activities line up for the 73rd Founder’s Day of the great citadel of learning popularly called THE ONLY SCHOOL.
Speaking at the event, the principal of the school, Akoni Adeniyi Oluyide said the giant strides recorded under the leadership of Dr Ijogun 10th Global Executives is unprecedented and will forever remain evergreen in the history of the school.
He added OGSA has experienced monumental infrastructural development through the assistance of the Old Boys, either as individual or Sets of different years.
The Principal thanked the Global President for the building of first Administrative Building for the school while urging him not to relent as he hand over to the 11th Global Executives.
On his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon Dayo Awude ably represented commended the leadership of the school and Alumni for prioritizing discipline, hardwork and good moral while urging the students to be serious with their academic, saying sporting activities alone is not enough.
On his part, the global president thanked the principal and entire management of the school for not only appreciating the good work the 10th Global Executives have done but also celebrating him.
He added that, whatever he becomes in life, the root can’t but be traced to Oyemekun Grammar School where he was taught the virtues of value which has helped him to become who he is today.
Ijogun charged the students to always make their education a priority and always be a good ambassador of the school and their respective family.
Award was presented to the Global President alongside other prominent people in the state who have contributed positively to the development of Oyemekun community.
The Global President was presented with a gift, a gigantic potrait by the Management and Staff of the school in appreciation of his legacy projects and contributions to OGSA.
In the overall result of the Inter-House Sport competition, White House came first (332) points, Green House Second (318) points, Blue House -Third (302) Points, Yellow House -Fourth (293) points and Red House came Fifth with 245 points.
Meanwhile, the global president earlier had interactive session with the students and staff of the school where the President gave account of his stewardship in the last four years.
