Following the nomination of the multiple awards winning Surveyor, Oludare Kayode for the Prestigious Akoni Oodua Award, the palace of Oonirisa on Thursday 9th October, 2025 received who-is-who in Ile-Ife, Osun State where some outstanding sons of the Yoruba lineage were decorated as the AKONI OODUA by Oonirisa, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja l l.
Akoni Oodua Honour is a program put together by the Akoni Oodua Global Resources to recognize distinguished individual who are making Yoruba race proud in their chosen professions.
Speaking with the PATH, the Converner of the Programme, Asiwaju Temidayo Ayodele stated that, Akoni Oodua Bibiire Leadership Award 2025 was organized to celebrate and encourage sons of Yoruba extraction their unwavering contributions to society and exemplary leadership in their different fields of human endeavors.
The event which was held on Thursday 9th at the historical Hall, Ile Nla,Ooni Palace, Ile-Ife has the Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja ll as the royal father while Adeola Faleye, Phd of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Faculty of law, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, delivered thought inspiring lecture with the theme, “The Ideal Nomenclature for Yoruba People! The Modern Perspective”.
The Akoni Oodua Award is one of the highest accolades given to individuals who exhibit remarkable leadership, cultural excellence, and an enduring commitment to the welfare of others.
Surveyor Oludare Kayode tireless dedication in the Surveying development within and outside Ondo State as a man of integrity and impeccable character has undoubtedly earned him this distinguished recognition.
Chatting with the PATH, Surveyor Oludare described Yoruba race as a tribe that values culture and beliefs in Omoluwabi ethos no matter the circumstances at hands.
He commended the Converner for the consideration for the prestigious honour while thanking Ooni of Ife for the honor of being decorated with Akoni Oodua.
Surveyor Oludare said the AKONI OODUA Award is unique considering it link with the source of Yourba lineage, saying he feels honored to be considered among numerous sons and daughters of Yoruba that are making Southwest proud.
He promised to continue to promote and support the monarch in the promotion of the Yoruba cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Surveyor Oludare Kayode was decorated as the Patron of the organization in Ondo State.
