Ise-Emure Grammar School ’82 Set Holds 7th Reunion Meeting, Visits Motherless Home, Gives Empowerment

The 1982 Set of the Ise Emure Grammar School held its 7th Reunion Meeting amidst pomp and pageantry in Akure, Ondo State Capital.
The well attended 7th Edition of the Reunion was glamorous as members of the Set were all decked in ‘Aso Ebi” at the NSE Hall, Akure, on Saturday 12th October , 2024.
Earlier, they visited the Ondo State Children Home where they spent time with the children and presented gift items to them.
Speaking with the PATH, the President of the association, Engr Ezekiel Oloruntola commended the huge turnout of members of the ’82 Set saying it is a fulfillment of his promised to encourage every member of the Alumni to be part of the reunion.
” When I was elected, I promised to make a difference by bringing in every lukewarm members to this year reunion and today we have impressive turnout. I am not going to relent for as long as I lead the Old Students Association, every aggrieved member must be persuaded to come to where he or she belongs to”.
He said this year edition was not only colourful but another twist was added to it by visiting the State Children’s Home where gift items were donated to them.

“We all agreed to visit Ondo State Children’s Home with intent to contribute our own quota to the life of the motherless children because government alone can’t do it”.
He stated that the ’82 Set is also determined to contribute its quota to the community and state where the school was established, saying it is part of the social responsibility to remember the community that gave them the opportunity to become whatever they are today.
The President noted that one of his major achievements in the last one year in the saddle was love and unity among his people saying his determination to bring everyone together gave room to the well attended 7th Edition of the reunion.
He reiterated the need to be one brother’s keeper saying the empowerment given to one of them who is a widow was borne out of genuine love among them.
” We empowered one of us who is a widow with the sum of N100,000 and surprisingly, another N220,000 was generated through voluntary contributions of our members and the money totalling N320,000 was given to her. We were able to achieve this because of the love among us”.
Engr Oloruntola appealed to them to prioritize love and unity, noting that there is nothing like the love they all shared while growing up as the students of Ise-Emure Grammar School.
In a separate interview with the PATH, the Chairman Planning Committee, Deaconess Adaramoye Dorcas thanked everyone that attended the program, saying by all standards, it was a successful outing.
While calling on those that miss out of this year edition to start preparing for the 8th edition of the reunion, Mrs Adaramoye noted that the visit to the Motherless Home is good initiative added to this year program describing it as commendable move.
The Secretary, Barr Alhaji Surajudeen Owoeye described the 7th Edition of the Reunion as successful when compared to previous ones adding that the visitation to the Motherless Home and cash empowerment was introduced with intent to show love and sense of belonging to the children and widow among them.
On his part, the Public Relations Officer and Chairman Local Organizing Committee, Pastor Kehinde Ojuawo (Ojuoluwa) said the testimonies of this year reunion will no doubt encourage members that miss out to attend next year edition.
He commended the love that reigns supreme among them, noting that the Aso Ebi wore by all signified love and unity, no intimidation, no inferiority complex while praying for more progress and elevations among them.
The highlight of the programme was the presentation of Awards to some outstanding people for their contributions to the development of the Old Students Association.
Provision was made for wining and dining with standby musician providing entertainment.
