Family Petition CP Over Torture, Allegation of Stealing Level Against Sibling By Businessman

The family of one Otunla Kayode John has petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command over torture and allegation of stealing of a Generator level against their sibling by one James, an Igbo Business Man residing in Ijigba 2 in Akure.
The family filed the petition through their counsel, Adeola Adebola & Co.
Kayode as popularly called was accused by James of stealing his generator set rather than reporting the case to the police, he allegedly took the laws into his hands by dehumanizing the suspect.
Mr Kayode has been living in the Ijigba 2 Community for more than two years, while investigating the matter, some of the people our Correspondent spoke with in the community described him as an easy going and hardworking guy that is not noted for crime.
Speaking with the PATH, Kayode stated that he has a small farm close to the house of James and his only offence was visiting the farm a day preceding the day James said his generator was stolen.
According to him, ” I visited my farm and the second day, I traveled to Ado Ekiti where I received a call from home that my attention was needed without having a prior knowledge of what was awaiting me at home”.
” On getting back, one Mr Bayo, Chairman Electricity Ijigba 2 Community came to my house and forcefully took me to the house of Mr James where he accused me of stealing his generator set. Before i know what was happening, they started beating me, used hot iron on my mouth, tied me like a goat and I was in that position till day break before he finally called Amotekun”.
Kayode further added that, Mr James asked him to swear with a calabash and other fetish items he brought out which he rejected saying his motive was strange to him. “I was tied down when he insist I swear if I am not the person that steal the generator and I refused”.
PATH Metro learnt that, Kayode spent four nights at the custody of Amotekun before he was released for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the family of Kayode having seen the wounds inflicted on their son, petitioned the Commissioner of Police, demanding for justice and bringing those involved in the torturing to book.
Our correspondence visited the Arakale shop of James for further clarify but wasn’t in the shop ditto Mr Bayo couldn’t be reached.
As at the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach out to the Commander of Amotekun and Commissioner of Police prove abortive as their phones are not reachable.
