Ekiti NLC Chairman, Kolapo Bags Akoni Oodua Award, Lauds BAO Welfare Packages For Workers

Comrade Kolapo Olatunde, Ekiti State Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) State Chairman has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji over his administration welfare packages for workers, saying the workers are proud of him.
The Chairman was speaking with the PATH at the Palace of Ooni of Ife, Ile ife, Osun State during the 2025 Akoni Oodua Award, held on Thursday 9th October, 2025.
Mrs Adeola Faleye, Phd of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, faculty of Art delivered througt inspiring lecture with the theme, “The Ideal Nomenclature for Yoruba People! The Modern Perspective”. at the event.
Dr. Faleye emphasized that names in Yoruba culture are deeply rooted in history, values, and family traditions, reflecting the circumstances surrounding birth and the beliefs of the people. She cautioned that names should be chosen carefully, as they often influence the lives of their bearers positively or negatively.
The Converner of the Programme, Asiwaju Temidayo Ayodele stated that, Akoni Oodua Bibiire Leadership Award 2025 was organized to celebrate and encourage sons of Yoruba extraction their unwavering contributions to society and exemplary leadership in their different fields of human endeavors.
Comrade Kolapo noted that, Governor Oyebanji has been listening to the yearnings of workers in the Ekiti State, providing solutions and meeting demands of workers, saying the leadership of the union will continue to collaborate and partner the government for as long as workers welfare is prioritize.
He enjoined workers in Ekiti State to be more productive saying to who much is given, much is expected in terms of service delivering.
Meanwhile, Comrade Kolapo thanked the Convener of the AKONI OODUA Award for counting him worthy to be recognized among hundreds of qualified sons of Yoruba race.
While dedicated the award to his late father, he promised to continue to be a good ambassador of Yoruba race as Akoni Oodua.
