ACHPN 18 LGs Branch Executives Inaugurated, As Outgoing Chairman Calls For Peaceful Co-existence Among Members

The State Chairman of the Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (ACHPN), Ondo State Chapter, Comrade Josiah Folorunsho Ogunleye has reeled out his achievements as the leader of the association.
Speaking at the official inauguration of the Branch Executives across the 18 Local Government held at the Association’s Secretariat in Akure on Thursday, 10th September 2026 stated that, his leadership has performed extremely well since inception as the state chairman.
Reeling out his achievements, Ogunleye said his administration prioritize the welfare of its members saying the newly employed members at the Ondo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency were given automatic one year advancement to Grade Level 8.
His words; ” The old story of reverting to Grade 10 during conversion has become a thing of the past. Members who did conversion on 2015-2020 were given credit, to be upgraded to the next Grade Level”.
He added that, the State Administrative Council is now in charge of promotion letters, saying the era of queuing at the Local Government Service Commission by members is over.
He mentioned that, under his leadership a 10- KVA solar system, Air Conditioner were installed at the Association’s Secretariat, aside procurement of additional chairs.
“Also, two plot of land bought by my predecessor is being developed by our administration, functional borehole has been sunk at the site, crushing of big rock covering 30 percent of the land, a certified land survey with architectural design of 1000 event capacity for the site has been done with the foundation of the event center in progress”.
He added further that, a double two bedroom flat is 95 percent completion, noting that the ultimate achievement of his administration is the peaceful co-existence among members of the association.
“Before, during and after State Delegates Conference in 2022, there were crises and factions here and there, but today,we are experiencing peaceful co-existence among our members”.
While inaugurating the newly elected Branch Executives of the association across the 18 Local Governments, Ogunleye congratulated them, stressing the need to be upright and repose the confidence given to them by members of the association, while describing their victory as a call to service.
” Leadership in our association should never be regarded as an avenue for personal privilege but as a responsibility to serve, unite, protect the legitimate interest of members and contribute to the development of community health practice”.
Ogunleye charged them to lead with integrity, humility, fairness, accountability and courage, saying their leadership must be characterized by listening, consultation, transparent and respect.
He enjoined every member to embrace unity, saying they all share common professional identity and common aspirations.” Let us avoid unnecessary division, unhealthy rivalry and personal interest that can weaken our association”.
The State Chairman further reiterated the importance of Community Health Practitioners, saying they occupy strategic position in the health care system, particularly at the primary healthcare level.
” Our Association must continue to promote continuous professional development, improved standards of practice, members’ welfare and constructive engagement with government and other relevant stakeholders.
He noted that, the association advocacy must remain responsible, purposeful and focused on achieving better conditions for members and better health outcomes for communities in Ondo State.
Ogunleye appealed to the newly Inaugurated Branch Executives to uphold the constitution and principles of the association, maintain regular communication with the State Administrative Council, encourage members, promote professional development and place the collective interest above personal ambition.
He urged all members across the state to give maximum support, cooperation and constructive counsel, stressing the to resolve issues or crisis through dialogue and appropriate structure of the association.
