GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY HELD FOR FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE STATION IN IGBARA-OKE, COMMUNITY LAUDS REP AKINGBASO
The ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the *Federal Fire Service Station* brought a large turnout of people from across the *Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency* to the venue at *Shasha, Igbara-Oke*, where the historic ceremony was performed.
Fire, as one of the elemental forces, is extremely useful when positively harnessed. However, when wrongly mishandled or misapplied, it can cause devastating consequences, including the tragic loss of lives and properties.
With human activities advancing daily, the risk of fire accidents continues to rise. This reality necessitated the facilitation of *two Federal Fire Service Stations* for the Federal Constituency. One has already been commissioned in *Idanre Local Government*, and the second is now being birthed in *Igbara-Oke*. With this addition, the number of Federal Fire Service Stations in the *Sunshine State* will rise to just five.
The facilitation of these critical projects was done by *Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso, MHR*, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, through the *Ministry of Interior* under the ministerial leadership of *Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo*.
Although the facilitator, Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso, could not attend due to other pressing circumstances, he was ably represented by *Hon. TPL Henry Olatuja*. Also in attendance were *High Chief Ojumu Akinnibosun*, who represented the Ugha Traditional Council, and *Hon. Vincent Akinde* and *Hon. Smart Aribigbola*, both representing the state executives of the *APC*.
The event also witnessed the presence of traditional rulers from across Ifedore Local Government under the chairmanship of the *Alara of Ilara-Mokin*. There were *Eyelules, Iyalojas*, and community leaders, as well as natives from major communities in the land.
*Hon. Dr. Lawrence Ibukun* led other notable dignitaries, including *Prince Bamisile Oseni Oscar, Fawoyi Tunde*, and others. Representing the Federal Fire Service, *CSF Obagunwa Olu*, the Admin Officer, stood in for the State Controller, alongside *SF Ajayi S.F.* and *Ogunnaike Oluwatosin*.
Speaking on behalf of the MHR, *Hon. TPL Henry Olatuja* expressed gratitude to all attendees for their presence. He urged the people to continue supporting the *APC-led Tinubu Administration* and briefly highlighted the numerous advantages of the newly sited project. He concluded by calling for continued electoral support for *Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso*, describing him as a performing federal lawmaker with deep passion for communal development.
Speaking for the traditional rulers, Alara of Ilara-Mokin eulogized the facilitator and pledged communal support for the construction team and for Federal Fire Service personnel when deployed. *Dr. Ibukun* also shared his views on the immense benefits the station will bring to the people when fully operational.
In his address, the *State Commander of the Federal Fire Service* expressed admiration for the vision behind the project. He lauded the *Controller General, Samuel Adeyemi Olumode*, noting that the project aligns with the passion of the facilitator, Rep. Akingbaso, the Minister of Interior, and the state government.
He emphasized that the station is aimed at ensuring efficiency and excellent service delivery through a significantly reduced response time during fire emergencies. He congratulated the people of Ifedore, the facilitator, and all stakeholders, and prayed for the safety of lives and properties in the Constituency.
The ground breaking was performed in phases. The *Alara of Ilara-Mokin* performed the first symbolic laying of the foundation, followed by officials of the Federal Fire Service, *Eyelules, Iyalojas*, and other community leaders.
One of the key features of the new Federal Fire Service Station is a *sunk borehole facility* to guarantee water supply for firefighting operations.
