The People’s Voice Honoured: Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat Receives AINPN Southwest Leadership Icon Award*

IBADAN — There are voices that inform, and then there are voices that transform. Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat belongs to the second category.
On Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, the Founder of Agidigbo 88.7 FM Ibadan will be honoured with the Southwest Leadership Icon Award by the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, AINPN, Southwest Chapter. The ceremony will hold at the Ogunlana Hall, International Conference Center, University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
This recognition is long overdue, and deeply deserved. Through Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat has built more than a radio station. He has built a movement. A movement that stands with the common man, that amplifies the cries of the oppressed, and that demands accountability from those in power.
Day after day, his platform has become the court of the people, where justice is sought, solutions are found, and hope is restored. From rescuing the helpless to exposing societal ills, Oriyomi Hamzat has used broadcasting as a tool for service, not just for information. That is why millions across the Southwest and beyond tune in, trust him, and call him their own.
AINPN Southwest said the award celebrates individuals whose works have directly impacted governance, security, education, business and community development across the region. In Oriyomi Hamzat, they have found a media icon whose courage, compassion and consistency have redefined what it means to serve the people through journalism.
