NUT ONDO STATE WING SEEKS GOD INTERVENTION, HOLDS INTERFAITH PRAYER SESSIONS

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ondo State Wing has held interfaith prayer session in March 11th 2026 to usher in the new working year for members of the union. During the session, the State Chairman, Comrade Ayodele Samuel Leke, highlighted workers’ welfare as the top priority.

These sessions are typically organized to start the new working year on a strong spiritual foundation and to foster unity among workers. The prayer session was held at the NUT SECRETARIAT, Oda Road, Akure, Ondo State.
Officiating Clergies for the special prayers session were Obanuwa Abubakar (Muslim) and Comrade Peter Arijeniwa (Christian) whom prayer points were on the needs and welfare of teachers in the state.

While thanking God for His mercies for past years and for ushering them into 2026 in good health, the Clergies prayed for the leadership of NUT at all levels, National, States and Branches as well as the Union Staff.
They prayed that God should empower all teachers in Ondo State to perform their duties with dedication, passion and excellence, while also seeking for God’s intervention in the lives of the managers of Nigeria’s economy to be more patriotic and do more for the Naira to regain its original value.

Other prayers points were divine protection and security, unity and strength within NUT, appointment of Headmaster General in primary schools, career elongation of Graduate teachers in primary schools beyond grade level 16.
Also on the prayers list are recruitment of more teachers in our schools, improved welfare and timely benefits i.e prompt payment of salaries, promotions and entitlements and favour with Government and Stakeholder.

The Union made declaration for 2026 which are; Year 2026 to be year of restoration and advancement; No weapon form against our members shall prosper; Our Union shall grow stronger and Our request shall turn to testimonies.
