British American Varsity Confers Doctoral Degree On Akure South LG HOLGA

The British American University, Florida, United States of America, has conferred Doctor of Science in Politics and Corporate Governance on the Akure South Local Government Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Dr Awe Victor Olusegun.
The conferment was held at the Akure South Local Government Secretariat on Tuesday, 25th November, 2025 in Akure, capital City of Ondo State.
Speaking, the representative of the varsity, Prof Joshua Oguntuase stated that, the honour on Dr Awe was based on his outstanding leadership, excellent records of achievement, and his optimal participation in different positions held at different times.
He described the award as well deserved and timely considering the number of years he has put into the service of the state and humanity.
On his part, Dr Awe commended the university for counting him worthy of the prestigious doctoral award conferment.
Akure South HOLGA who was overwhelmed and feel honoured with the honourary doctoral degree promised to continue to live above board and never relent in the service to the nation.
He thanked the management and staff of Akure South Local Government for their support and cooperation saying the award will further encourage him to do more as a public servant.
Dr Awe was born 59 years ago to the family of Late Chief Fola Bayode Awe and Late Chief Mrs Christianah Aina Awe in Akunu Akoko.
He attended Ondo State University Ado Ekiti (OSUA) where he obtained Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Master’s in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko.
He started his working career as a Principal Personnel Assistant (V) in Akoko North East Local Government. He is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and member of Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.
