Ise Emure Grammar School, Class of 1982, Holds 8th Annual Reunion Meeting

It was a celebration of friendship, unity, and nostalgia as members of the 1982 graduating set of Ise Emure Grammar School gathered on Saturday 11th October at NBA Hall, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State for the 8th Annual Reunion Meeting.
The 8th edition of the reunion was hosted in Ekiti State, bringing together old classmates to rekindle bonds and celebrate over four decades of shared memories.
The programme was marked by activities reflecting service, philanthropy, recognition, fitness, entertainment, and thanksgiving.
Speaking, the Chairman 2025; Planning Committee, Mrs Kehinde Adaramoye welcome members to the 8th Reunion Meeting, noting that, the gathering is a homecoming, celebration of friendship, growth and the bonds they share as members of the same family.
She thanked members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organize glamorous event to be remembered by all.
In his welcome address, the Association’s President, Engr Ezekiel Oloruntola FNSE praised the enduring commitment of members since the group’s inception, noting that their togetherness had grown into a family. He explained that the purpose of the reunion was to ensure that distance and time would never sever their connection with one another or with their alma mater.
He thanked members who attended the 2025 Reunion, while extending gratitude to Almighty God for granting them good health to be part of the 8th edition of the programme.
Giving account of his stewardship, Engr Oloruntola appreciated the highly committed Executive Committee Members that work with him, describing them as supportive allies that made the leadership of the association very easy for him.
He stated that, the major achievement of the association is sustainable unity and love among members, saying the welfare of members was prioritized by his leadership.
” Our priority in the Exco is to ensure a sustainable unity and love among members. We did not take welfare of members for granted, we didn’t relent on our visits and regular checks through telephone calls on members”.
The president added that, aside regular Excos meeting, the association resolution of giving back to their base and community as a social and corporate responsibility was implemented by presenting cash gifts to the best pupils from primary one to six at St Paul Emure and St Mark, Ise respectively.
Engr Oloruntola commended the association for working with his leadership in extending financial support to members in needs, saying the kind gestures was extended to one member last year.
” You will recall also that as part of extending our hands of fellowship to each other, we initiated financial support to members, through your support, we did one last year, we didn’t stop at that, we are extending it to another member here today. God on our side, we will continue to do it”.
He tasked members to work towards the floating of foundation where resources will be put together to support any vulnerable members in need of financial assistance.
The President appealed for more love among members, saying the present status of individuals notwithstanding, they should see themselves as one family. “We started together, we know ourselves and we will continue to remember that foundation and root where we started”.
While thanking members for their financial support towards the success of the 8th edition of the association’s reunion, he urged them to continue to interact and collaborate with one another, saying isolation from friends is risky at their old age.
A highlight of the reunion was the presentation of Excellence in Public Service Award to Hon (Otunba) Kayode Fasae, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment in Ekiti State who was a 1980 set of the school
Addressing the gathering, Otunba Fasae thanked the association for the recognition, noting that, Ise Emure Grammar School instilled values of resilience, determination and community Spirit in him which were all instrumental to his success in life.
He encouraged fellow alumni of the school to uphold the values of Ise Emure Grammar School, while urging young ones to develop a strong work ethic, resilience and determination to achieve their goals.
Others decorated with award included Alhaji Idowu Owoeye (Meritorious Service Award), Mr Ogundeji Ademola (Meritorious & Outstanding Service Award and Mrs Ayoola Oluwafunmike Yinka (Association’s Service Award).
The 8th Annual Reunion Meeting, Class of ’82 reunion not only celebrated over four decades of friendship but also reaffirmed the association’s legacy of service, unity, love and commitment to community.
The reunion concluded with merriment , entertainment, dancing and closing prayer.
