Hon Amidu Takuro, the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has described the Late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON as a man of courage who always stand by the truth.
Takuro was part of dignitaries that graced the maiden edition of the Akeredolu Leadership Lecture Series held at the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome), in Akure.
The event was themed “Security Sector Reform in Promoting Peace, Stability, and Development: The Ondo State Example.”
Speaking with the PATH, the Commissioner said the exit of Akeredolu was a big loss not to Ondo State alone but to the entire Yourba race and Nigeria.
He said AKETI as popularly called lived up to expectations of the people and always stand with the people without minding who ox is gored.
His words: ‘ It is hard to believe that my late boss is dead but we can’t question God because Aketi has simply reached his destination as mortal but we can pray for a better replacement of which we have found in the current governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa”.
” Our joy is that Governor Aiyedatiwa is following the footsteps of his late boss as he has demonstrated leadership trait that is tailor towards the development of Ondo State.
Takuro added that Governor Aiyedatiwa is the greatest legacy of Akeredolu saying the Late Governor is a man that saw the future with the choice of Aiyedatiwa as his deputy.
He noted the the legacies of Akeredolu will continue to be remembered by unborn generation while thanking Governor Aiyedatiwa for naming the new High Court Complex after the late Governor.
Meanwhile, the SSA on Student Affairs, Hon Kelvin Solomon Olaolu (KSO) in the same vein described Late Akeredolu as a disciplinarian and fearless personality who always speaks truth to power.
KSO said the Late Governor is a blessing to Governor Aiyedatiwa who he anointed as possible successor, saying the choice of Akeredolu has come to reality with the overwhelming victory of the governor at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
