SOS To Ondo Govt: Adebowale Market Traders Cry Out Over #50m Demand From Unknown Gunmen

The Taders at Adebowale Market in Akure, Ondo State have sent Save Our Soul (SOS) to the governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and security agencies over the N50m demands from unknown gunmen threatening their lives.

An undated notice of visit by suspected kidnappers was secretly pasted at Adebowale market, ondo road informing market women particularly the sellers of Elubo, rice, beans to prepare a sum of Fifty Million Naira only (#50m) for them or else, they should be ready for any eventuality.

The group even stated that if the market women like, they should inform Adebowale chiefs, their family members, army or any security men, the visit will surely come unscheduled.

Speaking with the PATH, one of the market women disclosed how N4m was collected from one of the traders of the market at a gunpoint in Ogbese saying all indications shown that he was monitored and tailed from Adebowale to Ogbese.

It was further learnt that, several calls of threat to lives are being made to traders of the market of which they have informed Deji of Akure on the need to take drastic streps on time.

They Trader also briefed the Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Hon Gbenga Fasua on threat to their lives and property by the faceless criminals causing apprehension and fear in the mind of people of the community.

” We have also informed the police, DSS, Military about the content of the notice pasted at the market and we are hopeful that the security agencies will apprehend those behind the notice”.

The traders called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, security agencies and stakeholders to come to the rescue of the community and find a lasting solution to the issue of threat to lives.
