The State President of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode has cried out to Nigerians to save her life as one Tunde Adegbonmire assaulted and threatening to deal with her.
The President said with the high rate of insecurity in the country, she can’t but alert the public of the threat to her life, should in case any unforseen happen to her.
Mrs Aborode who has briefed the security agency about the defamatory and derogatory comments of Adegbonmire to her, said justice must prevail as the case would be charged to court.
She said violence against women must stop as people like Adegbonmire are found of assaulting and molesting women in the society.
According to her, “Adegbomire beat his chest that I will see him in his usual colour to women, this is a treat to my life expecially at this period of lnsecurity”.
She urged well meaning Nigerians to pray for her safety.
While speaking with newsmen, some members of NCWS condemned the altercation, saying it’s time people like Adegbonmire begin to respect woman dignity.
While describing Pastor Aborode as a peaceful loving and easy going woman that is well respected in the State, they said there is need to checkmate Adegbonmire excesses.
” The entire women in Ondo State across 18 Local government Areas have raised their voices that justice must be done. An injustice to one, is an injustice to all. If our State President can be so assaulted, what becomes the faith of ordinary women on the streets?”.
” All we are saying is for justice to prevail; Adegbomire must spelt out the meaning of his alteration at the court of law; violence Against Women in Ondo State is a forgotten issues but the entire women in the state need justice over the derogatory statements on our president, a woman of high lntegrity in Ondo state”.
We learnt that, the NCWS president has left her house to undisclosed location for fear of being attacked, saying her life is very precious.
At the time of filing this report, we couldn’t reach out to Tunde Adegbonmire for clarification on whether he threatens Pastor Aborode or not as all attempt to reach him proof abortive.
